Thrive Summit
hosted By Brian Vaszi

Welcome to this special holistic tips and hints email as a result of my attendance at this 7 Day Summary with World Renowned Doctors, Researchers and even Pharma Whistleblowers of all kinds (see Day 1 Notes, email me if you did not get them), chiming in on what Health really means within the past 17 years of research that has been suppressed or hidden, and how we can begin to take our own health back, no matter what your age! In this summit was the Mother of Holistic Medicine, Dr. Gladys McGarey, an American Holistic Medical Assocation Co-founder who is still a practicing MD, at 102 years old….

Brought to you exclusively by, your local Elephant in the room – ET (Elephant Training), yes the health paradigms are shifting and you are in for a treat!

Your habits, create the habitat of your mind/body/soul. Choose 3-4 steps below to start slowly, steps that call out to you to begin to take on making changes. Then tackle one more at a time slowly and when you’re ready, every bit helps. Any step you make is a step towards your own health & healing.

Did you know 80% of your health is the result of your lifestyle? Many people don’t want to hear that.

Did you know that there is no simple or quick fix or pill to genuine health and healing?
The body needs more fibre to detox properly, only 10% of the population is getting enough fibre!

  • Did you know that 10 minutes of laughter equates to 20 minutes of rowing?(I know which one I’m choosing, lol) – need a laugh? Check out Jim Bruer’s Somebody Had To Say It! But there are many.

  • Did you know that the brain craves predictability? This is why we have to change habits
slowly and consistently with routines, or it’ll end up in self-sabotage loops and processes.

  • Did you know that crying is a form of toxin removal and many people don’t do it anymore because of the stigma? The next time someone cries, ask yourself why are you uncomfortable with their tears? Sit WITH them.

  • Did you know that you can find something called laughter yoga? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrMMWAEtaVM
    https://www.laughteryoga.org/

  • Did you know that crying is actually NEEDED to be done, so you can feel better shortly afterwards? (Now I understand why I used to always listen to sad songs, but inspirational ones still do it for me too! How about you? Make a list and use it when BLUE, it’ll lift your spirits right up)

  • Did you know we are at a mental health crisis of epic proportions now, many are labelling PTSD because of the after-effects of COVID that we are living through right now, and they would be absolutely right.

  • Did you know that kids in general laugh about 10x more than adults? Did we forget? Hmm..

Why are we so serious, being grown up is not as much fun, so now, sit and laugh for 1 minute I dare you, put the timer on even……yeah, Ok, well it’s not as fun as some of the Dad jokes I heard on the summit and I didn’t write them down sadly, but maybe go find some good jokes and share them with others, just for fun!!

Best Exercise and Movement Routine to build stem cells, which overcome disease and increase energy:

Resistance at least 3x a week includes the following:

  • Push/Pull exercises (using dumbbells or resistance bands can help, pushups, pullups)
  • Glutes including variations of lunges and squats
  • Carrying loads to equalize stability if uneven gait
  • Balance training (if you can’t stand on each leg for at least 10 seconds, you need balance training)
  • Plank variations for core training (always start with what you can do, no matter how small)
  • Speed/Power training (jump rope, jog, increase intensity until a sweat begins, then slow down -start with 1 minute high intensity, 1 minute regular, use a timer!)
  • 2000 average steps a day as a starting point for movement and increase as able another 100 per week, watch your health improve, we don’t move and/or stretch enough!! We aren’t designed to sit as much as we do and this is much of why we are so sore.
  • If you are in a wheelchair, stretch and move the parts you can, as often as you can or your muscles will atrophy. If you don’t use them, you lose them.

Best Food and Nutrition Verdicts

  • Leafy greens of all kinds, use food as medicine, nutritarian diet
  • Beans/Legumes (Legumes are associated with longevity in the countries that had best longevity outcomes
  • All fruits and vegetables that are frozen are more fresh in the grocery store than the produce that is put out in the “Fresh” department, some items are stored up to a year so nutrition is limited. Change up your vegetables to eat varieties and all colors of nature’s rainbow.
  • Arugula has lots of nitric oxide in it which is extremely beneficial
  • Spinach is high in iron
  • Always eat your fruits/vegetables as soon as possible from picked fresh from a garden or farm, for maximum nutrition, whenever possible
  • Nuts and seeds (a handful a day)
  • Walnuts (great for the brain!)
  • Avocados (High omega fatty acids just like walnuts)
  • Cruciferous (steamed is easiest on system)
  • Berries (as little as a handful a day)
  • Beets (help release nitric oxide which we lose as we age)
  • Tomatoes (cooked for maximum lycopene)
  • Protein of no more than 15% of your maximum daily intake. Most people eat too much protein and that is associated with higher dis-ease outcomes. Further studies needed to find out which is better plant/animal protein, however just be sure you are getting purest source of animal protein.
  • Remove ALL PROCESSED meats/foods
  • Teas: Green, Black and Red/Rooibos
  • Herbs: Turmeric and Ginger together are proven a better powerhouse than turmeric and pepper taken together, it has 10-30x the strength
Bitters such as dandelion and milk thistle for system cleansing and assistance with digestion

Best Mental Health Techniques based on Neuroplasticity and Epigenetic Research

  • Self Counsel: Journal exercise to release trapped emotions, when you are feeling something uncomfortable, write it all out. When you have finished writing out uncensored what you want to say and how you feel, you take a few minutes to reread it and then write yourself as if you were a counsellor writing back to make that person feel better. Then discard as desired, or save the counselling part of this exercise and re-read it if desired.
  • Use caution with any “drugs” given by doctors. At best, medication works positively for someone only 25% of the time based on studies, and SSRI’s, among many others like Gabapentin and statin drugs, are being proven to be harmful in longitudinal studies.
  • Gratitude jars, write at least 3 things to be grateful about at the end of the day, no matter how small. “I made the bed”, “I laughed at dinner” “I walked around the block”. The more you are grateful for in little things, the more things will come at you to be grateful for.
  • Create an inspiring vision board of your future with words/pictures, or create a Genogram of your heritage so you can see ancestral patterns of behavior to understand deeper levels of intergenerational trauma. Feel free to ask me for more hints and tips on other types of self-work techniques. (Ask me about the ACES/PCES arrow).
  • Stop giving yourself JABS (Judgement, Abandonment, Blame, Shame)
  • Nervines for calming the Vagus Nerve: Scullcap, Blue Vervain/Verbena, Lavendar Essential Oil
  • Be sure you are spending time “Digesting” your emotions (Energy in motion), every day so you will become emotionally resilient and less reactive to life stressors. Life will always have stress and no emotions are bad – what matters is what you do with those emotions.
  • Laugh! Be in charge of your dopamine and other brain chemicals.
  • You are here for a reason, find what makes your heart sing. There are correlations between having a high sense of purpose and living longer and better. You have to love what you do, or work in stages towards it as part of your goals, even for the day.
  • MOVE: Walk around your living room or dance on the spot if you must, energy cannot be stagnant throughout the day, but ensure you are moving when your body tells you to. If you begin to feel pain throughout the day it is a reminder “That’s enough of this activity” and that you need to move around.
  • What is this pain teaching me?” Physical pain is an emotional message to be cleared.
  • Love is the most powerful medicine, love and life have to act together.
  • I don’t feel worth anything” is a phrase we may say when we have trapped grief.
  • Most people do not treat themselves as well as they treat other people, and that is where we get stuck. Pain is a teacher and it’s all about perspective. Find the lesson to move away from suffering and back towards life and living.
  • Write your own song, about your life and experiences. Creativity is very unique and individual in it’s own meaning.
  • Rest is also doing something, but rest doesn’t mean doing nothing or we wither away from our purpose and zest for life. Where is your attention going on a regular basis, and is that attention draining your energy or is it investing in it? You have free will to choose.
  • Get in touch with your spiritual self, this is not necessarily needing to be religion. Prayer, intention or focus, positive mantra’s, chanting or humming, breathing from the diaphragm, whatever connects you to Creator/Source/God.
  • You matter. You are here for a reason. The breath of life is in you for a very specific reason. Be sure you stay curious every day about what you can do to make the world a bit better because of your presence and existence in it. You’ve already earned your right to be in this world when you were born. Don’t forget that, if you don’t believe in miracles, perhaps you have forgotten that you are one. Nothing is impossible, the word itself even says, “I’m possible.” Even told my stepdaughters that! 🙂

Best Gut Health and Microbiome Tips

  • Lots of leafy greens, these have a natural blue light blocker to also protect your eyes. Eye health is directly related to gut health. Eat 5 cups of fruits/vegetables, nuts and seeds per day.
  • Probiotic: Something you use when you are having digestive issues as a way to repair:: jerusalem artichoke, boc choy, cruciferous vegetables like brussel sprouts
  • Prebiotic: The most overlooked form of fibre for the beneficial bacteria to lower inflammation. Is what you use to keep your gut in balance. These are sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, kefir, kombucha, green tea, chickpeas, lentils, barley, garlic, bananas, onions, kiwi, dandelion, chicory root, apples.
  • Traditionally fermented foods: including homemade pickles and canning as ancestors used to do, if unable to find go to Asian food stores or specialty stores to find traditionally fermented foods, not mass produced
  • Fibre: 40-60g per day to stabilize blood sugar and keep digestion flowing and detoxing
  • At least 1 Bathroom bowel movement a day is healthy. Anything less, add fibre such as psyllium
  • Spices: turmeric, paprika, saffron (apparently can find clean saffron at Costco),

Best Sleep Tips to Reset the Circadian Rhythm

  • make your room dark, quiet and cool for bedtime 63-67
  • nap during the day no longer than 20 minutes
  • do not engage in brain arousing activities around bedtime, keep and stick to a bedtime
  • stay out of bed until bedtime so there’s a separation in the brain to know when it’s supposed to be tired to release melatonin
  • Create a calm and sleep sanctuary in your room, your bedroom needs to have only two activities occurring in it to regulate cycles: sleep and/or sex
  • remove devices from the bedroom, electronics free in hour before bed
  • get enough daylight during daylight hours, go outside whenever possible so the brain knows it’s time to be alert
  • Sleep for 8 hours for best outcomes
  • 4-7-8 Breathing – in for 4, hold for 7, out for 8. Exhale longer than your inhale to activate the calming in the vagus nerve down, and your body can recover from stress, do this regularly to sharpen your vagal tone.
Paradoxical Intention: decide you aren’t going to fall asleep and try to stay awake as you lay there. This will reduce the stress and silence the chatter.
Cognitive Shuffling: think of a neutral object like Toaster, then think of another neutral object starting with the last letter of the last word. Like Rain. And so on….(more fun than counting sheep it sounds like! LOL)
  • get up at the same time everyday so the brain knows when it’s supposed to be resting and healing your body
  • Milky oats and reishi/lemon balm make a good sleep aid together
  • Hops tincture is highly recommended for sleep aid, this herb is the base of beer

Other miscellaneous tips: red light therapy activates mitochondria. Mitochondria are the energy of our cells and the ability to detoxify and create new energy. This is something I have to look deeper into, this is many times I have heard about red light therapy benefits.

I am a holistic mental health coach and have over 20 years combined education, research, training and experience in mental health, counselling and psychology. My previous experience in the mental health field has consisted of working with a diverse range of specialties that include communities and clients affected with special needs, addictions and recovery, workshop presentations, individual counselling, group facilitations, as well as crisis interventions, to name a few. Since Spring of 2019, my life situation has forced my learning to take on a new direction and there has been so much information and personal growth, a huge shift in my well-being holistically. This has given me a driving passion to teach others these amazing tools, information and application of what you can begin to implement in order to live your very best life no matter what your personal situation is. There’s something for everyone here, I will be referring mostly to the cause, effects, education, consequences and implementations towards your recovery, no matter what it is you are challenged with at this time in your life. Currently located in the beautiful city of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canad, my personal journey has contributed to a path of coping with chronic pain through various accumulated stressful and traumatic experiences that were stored unconsciously within the body. Personal traumas ranging from sexual assault, “special needs” parenting of an “Aspergers transgender” child, “parental alienation”, abusive relationships, divorce, and so much more. My goal is to teach you the steps you will learn to take, to heal your mind, emotions and body, simultaneously. Each person is unique and results vary, but this is the start of a journey that could result in a lasting and healing process of do-it-youself-care.

  1. Can you please cite the information for your claim:

“At best, medication works positively for someone only 25% of the time based on studies, and SSRI’s, among many others like Gabapentin and statin drugs,”.

As a counsellor, I find it to be a conflict of ethics to speak on matters outside my education, such as medication. I choose to refer them to subject matter experts such as Doctors or Nurse Practitioners. If you have current research which contradicts best medical knowledge please post it, as Maya Angelou says ” Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better do better.

This stands against the medical evidence provided in articles such as:

Gabapentin: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5510619/ (Liu et al,2017) : Demonstrates significantly more efficacy the 25%

    Statins: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41569-018-0098-5

“In 2016, an expert consensus panel from the ACC recommended the use of nonstatin therapies (ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors) in addition to maximally tolerated statin therapy in individuals whose LDL-cholesterol and non-HDL-cholesterol levels remained above certain thresholds after statin treatment. Given the substantial benefits of statin therapies in both primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, their long-term safety has become a concern. ” (Adhyaru & Jacobson, 2018)

    1. World renowned Doctors and experts over a 7 day live summit called the Live Long and Thrive Summit. Dr John Abramsom who’s exposing pharmaceutical secrets as a whistleblower has stated that and has many resources regarding his findings within this summit. He has been a pharmaceutical litigation expert and an unpaid consultant for the FBI and Justice Department, as one of many speakers on that training. The cost to society is 2.3 trillion dollars of money for failed outcomes, my ethics tell me that taxpayers and those who are or have been awaiting old systems to help them, are not going to find it when it’s all driven by greed and profit. Most doctors aren’t interested in working themselves out of a paycheck, so it’s only common sense that they would need customers.. There are too many conflicts of interest within the capitalist professions. I might understand how this works as part of the holistic profession is to understand the impact of socioeconomic factors, which contribute to the impact of trauma within my field. There are many peer reviewed articles that have been suppressed. I AM in the business of putting myself out of work, because I believe healing occurs when people feel seen, heard and respected, beyond a paycheck. I hope this clears up any confusion, see links below and happy healing to you..
